Ongoing Impact

2014–2022 Cancer Research Projects

VeloSano grants two different types of awards. VeloSano Pilot Grants provide seed funding for cancer research activities being performed across the Cleveland Clinic enterprise. Utilizing a competitive application and peer-review selection process, the goal of the VeloSano Pilot Grants is to support projects with a high likelihood of leading to successful, future extramural grant funding.

VeloSano Impact Grants are distributed by the VeloSano Medical Chairman to satisfy the critical needs of Cleveland Clinic’s cancer program. Whether a piece of equipment, advanced technology, recruitment or laboratory expenses, the VeloSano Impact Grants are to address strategic priorities that will advance the investigational abilities in the area of cancer research. These awards are meant to ensure that our caregivers and patients have access to the best talent and technology available.

In nine years, VeloSano participants & supporters generated $37 million which has been used to fund 220+ cancer research projects. Below, is a snapshot of the number of projects by specific cancers funded since 2014.
