Spin for Stu: $1 Million Strong and All‑In VeloSano

A truly extraordinary milestone was reached in 2025 by an equally extraordinary VeloSano team: Spin for Stu.

This family team became the first and only non‑corporate team to collectively raise more than $1 million over 12 years for cancer research — a testament to their unwavering commitment, love and belief in the power of coming together for a cause greater than themselves.

This remarkable accomplishment has rightfully earned them this year’s prestigious All‑In VeloSano award, an honor reserved for those who make outstanding contributions to the VeloSano community. Since the very first VeloSano Bike to Cure, Spin for Stu has been a constant source of inspiration and dedication.

The team was formed as a way to commemorate Stuart Schreiber, a loving husband and father of three, among many other things. He was a highly accomplished business professional who cherished time with family and friends, whether traveling, attending sporting events, cycling or enjoying simple pleasures, like eating a hot corned beef sandwich. A lifelong learner, Stuart approached the world with curiosity and a deep appreciation for craftsmanship.

Stuart’s passing from pancreatic cancer in 2011 left his family forever changed, sparking a determination to transform grief into action. When VeloSano Bike to Cure started in 2014, his kids, Morgan Jacobs, Brittany Bosner and Ryan Schreiber, knew they had to be part of it.

The roots of Team Spin for Stu trace back to VeloSano Bike to Cure 2014, where five Riders, Stuart’s kids, as well as Amanda Fox and Michael Jacobs, set out to celebrate his legacy.

“He gave so much to others and to the community and made friends wherever he was,” says Kandis Schreiber, Stuart’s wife, Bike to Cure Rider, Volunteer and VeloSano champion. “If he could see what his kids have accomplished with building this team and raising so much money and being so passionate about the cause, he would be so proud. It has really brought us together and kept us together all these years.”

Spin for Stu has grown stronger every single year, and in 2025, the team raised a record-breaking $159,899. For Morgan, Stuart’s daughter, this isn’t just something she’s passionate about — it’s a commitment that sits at the very top of her priority list.

“Bike to Cure will always be my favorite weekend, and I’m really proud of this team and grateful for everyone’s support,” says Morgan, Bike to Cure Rider, Volunteer and Team Captain. “It’s such a team effort — so many of dad’s friends continue to give generously every year, and it helps us all stay connected. The VeloSano community is amazing, and we can see the dollars at work, making a real difference in research and cancer treatments.”

In 2025, Team Spin for Stu rallied 51 Riders and Virtual Fundraisers, uniting to pay tribute to Stuart Schreiber and to raise critical dollars for cancer research at Cleveland Clinic.

Stuart had a rare gift: he could always find the good in people and in every situation. That outlook, that belief in the power of kindness and community, is woven into the fabric of Spin for Stu. Every mile they ride and every dollar they raise reflects the impact and intentionality that Stuart had on people. The team doesn’t just uphold his legacy — it carries his spirit forward in a way that makes this world a better place.

“The three of us doing this together would have made him prouder than anything,” says Morgan. “My brother, sister and I have never wavered. We’ve always stood side by side, in everything we do. There’s nowhere else I’d rather spend my time and energy than making a difference with VeloSano.”

Because of Team Spin for Stu, multiple cancer research projects have been funded at Cleveland Clinic. Their perseverance has not only fueled groundbreaking discoveries but also brought hope to countless patients and families.

“Watching this team, I see their father’s passion, his strength and even his ability to connect with people,” says Kandis. “They don’t take no for an answer — they inspire others to support or join the cause. I am just amazed that we’ve raised over a million dollars in 12 years. Whether you’re a team of two or a team of a thousand, it all makes a difference.”

What began as a small family team has grown into a powerful force for good. While the team celebrates this incredible milestone, they know what Stuart would say.

“He would have said, ‘What are you going to do next year?’” says Morgan. “For him, it was always about giving back — helping people who are less fortunate, whether financially or in their health. That’s the lesson he left us: you need to give back, you need to support and you need to keep going.”

Congratulations and thank you, Team Spin for Stu!

You are 100% all-in VeloSano.
