Petitti and Trike & Bike: Growing a Better Future, Together

Taking care of our community has been a cornerstone of Cleveland Clinic’s mission since the beginning. We share this commitment with many of our partners, including Northeast Ohio’s premier garden retailer, Petitti Garden Centers.

A.J. Petitti, President of Petitti Garden Centers

For over two decades, Petitti’s give-back program has supported patients and their families at Cleveland Clinic Children’s. Through the incredible generosity of customers as well as other support and contributions, this beloved family-owned business has been able to donate over $700,000, impacting programs like Child Life and pediatric research.

“This is truly a collective effort across all of our stores, and I think it does a tremendous amount of good,” says A.J. Petitti, President of Petitti Garden Centers. “Our customers and our communities take great care of us. So I think it’s important to give back and to support. It’s part of who we are and what we believe in.”

Cultivating Community

New this year, Petitti’s Round Up campaign will support pediatric cancer research. Customers can make a meaningful difference now through June 30, 2025, by simply rounding up their total at the register or donating online. It’s a straightforward yet powerful way for those who wish to contribute to make a local impact.

“For any business, there are so many ways to apply the cause marketing model,” says A.J. “Whether it’s a restaurant or retail, any way you can help, big or small, makes a difference. We are a local business, and we try to support as many local charities and businesses as we can.” Petitti’s has committed to becoming a proud partner of Cleveland Clinic’s Trike & Bike. This annual bike ride gives kids the chance to have fun and stay active while raising money for a great cause. Trike & Bike will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. With just 4% of federal cancer research funding going to pediatric cancer, events like Trike & Bike play a crucial role in ending this devastating disease.

“I think it’s important to support the families and organizations of Northeast Ohio,” says A.J., who is serving as the event’s Honorary Chair. “We are so blessed to have Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Clinic Children’s and so many other great organizations that put donations to work to make large-scale impacts.”

The effect of cancer is something many of us have felt within our own families and communities. One in 285 young people will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 20. Every donation and act of kindness contributes to a brighter future for children in our community.

Rooted in Compassion

“Many of our team members have been touched by Cleveland Clinic,” says A.J. “Their passion really comes out in asking for everyone’s support. It’s the same thing with customers. When we give people the opportunity to help, many times we hear, ‘Thank you for doing this.’”

Trike & Bike is one of the signature efforts in support of VeloSano, Cleveland Clinic’s ongoing fundraising initiative dedicated to enabling groundbreaking cancer research. Since 2018, Trike & Bike riders have raised over $1.6 million, significantly advancing pediatric cancer research areas such as leukemia and sarcoma.

Join Petitti Garden Centers in this inspiring effort that specifically helps fill the funding gap for critical research. Together, we can create a positive change in the lives of countless children and families affected by cancer.
