VeloSano Voices 2025

What makes VeloSano special?

It’s the people, the stories, and the unwavering belief that together, we can cure cancer.

That’s why we’re launching VeloSano Voices, a monthly spotlight celebrating those who inspire us to keep riding, giving, and hoping.

Brian & Diana Taussig

Brian and Diana Taussig with Team Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cyclotrons

For our very first feature, we couldn’t think of a better time to highlight two people whose generosity and commitment are making a massive impact in the pursuit of a cure: Brian and Diana Taussig.

Each year, they make hundreds of donations to support individual Bike to Cure participants & teams including Cleveland Clinic Team Taussig Cyclotrons, the top fundraising team.

Brian & Diana have created a long-lasting impact within the VeloSano community. As VeloSano has grown, so has their support.

We are beyond grateful for Brian and Diana’s passion for VeloSano and the difference they are making to advance cancer research!

Team Captain Kate Eschleman

As Team Captain, Kate Eshleman has led Team Cleveland Clinic Children’s to incredible heights. They raised over $175,000 in 2024, bringing the team’s total impact to $672,000 for cancer research!

From organizing restaurant giveback nights and food trucks, to enlisting the help of Cleveland Clinic Children’s facility dog, Trotter, Kate is the master in engaging her team’s network in creative ways.

Kate also supports the next generation of fundraisers through our Trike & Bike program, where she has spoken during the pre-ride program to children about the importance of raising funds for pediatric cancer research.

Through her passionate and purposeful leadership, Kate truly exemplifies the VeloSano spirit!
Thank you, Kate!

From recruiting new riders, sharing their stories, captaining rest stops, mentoring new teams and even hosting training rides with a sweet treat at the end – Team Squire Patton Boggs does it all to keep their team in gear and remain dedicated to our mission.

Bill Waldeck and Dana Morris

For Bill Waldeck and Dana Morris, a couple hailing from Parkersburg, West Virginia, philanthropy is not just about donating money…it’s about creating meaningful change, and leaving a legacy of compassion.

Their combined $12 million testamentary gift to cancer research at Cleveland Clinic is rooted in their individual experiences with cancer, and a desire to make a broader impact.

“Cancer has touched everyone. It’s important to contribute to cancer research because it affects every family in America.”
Dana Morris

“If our donation can save one life, it’s worth it.”
Bill Waldeck

With their gift, Waldeck and Morris join the VeloSano Legacy Circle, which recognizes those who have made testamentary gifts to benefit cancer research at Cleveland Clinic.

Thank you, Bill and Dana, for ensuring that your legacy will change lives, and always being 100% for the Cure!

Team Eye Fight to Win

Riley, Lyla and Hannah make up team Eye Fight to Win for VeloSano Trike & Bike. By the age of 13 months, all three girls had been diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer that left each of them with sight in only one eye.

The girls and their families met last year through social media, and bonded over all being treated at Cleveland Clinic by Dr. Arun Singh. After learning about Trike & Bike, they created their team based on a rallying cry commonly associated with retinoblastoma:

“Eye fight to Win!”

Although they might be too young to grasp the full impact they are making, they take pride knowing that by participating in Trike & Bike they are helping other kids with cancer.

Thank you, Team Eye Fight to Win, for being 100% for the cure!
